The four-star DANUBIUS Health Spa Resort HELIA, wellness and conference hotel, built in Scandinavian style, was opened in 1990 and partially renovated in 2003-2005. The natural thermal water of the hotel spa is directly supplied from springs on the nearby Margaret Island, renown for its high quality medical and relaxation features.

The wellness and conference Hotel HELIA is situated on the embankment of the River Danube with a view to the Buda Hills and Margaret Island. The Hotel is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by a park. Most rooms overlook a lovely, refreshing park and the river. The hotel is within easy reach from the city centre with good access to public transport.

All rooms are equipped with bathroom, individually controlled air-conditioning, colour satellite TV, direct dial telephone and mini bar and have a view to the River Danube, the Margaret Island, the Buda Hills or the city; some rooms have a balcony. The hotel has three non-smoking floors. Connecting rooms and rooms for handicapped guests are available as well. ISDN connection is provided in the suites.

In the spa of the hotel beauty and health programs are available. The thermal water used in the spa is brought to the surface on the Margaret Island at a temperature of 70°C but it is then cooled to 32-34°C and 36-38°C while retaining its unique, curative ingredients. It is then piped across the river to the hotel spa to be used for various medical or relaxation treatments. This thermal water is particularly beneficial for those suffering from joint and muscle problems, certain degenerative nerve conditions, some circulation disorders, and for many other physical complaints. Relaxing in the thermal water pools is also an excellent way to simply unwind and release the stresses and tensions of modern life.
